Bring your own 4WD on the Sealink ferry, or rent one locally. XSPOT Cliff is accessed over unsealed roads and a steep driveway. Once you get to the top of the cliff, this light & modern self-contained apartment provides sweeping 270 degree panoramic views over New Zealand’s Hauraki Gulf. This Great Barrier Island apartment is spacious and light and has it’s own lounge kitchen area, a bedroom with queen size bed, a bathroom, a walk in ward robe and a little hall way. It’s fully self contained, no meals included.

And at night you can view the stars of the island’s Dark Sky Sanctuary from this Great Barrier Island apartment. The sky here is certified magnificent – a delight for astronomers and stargazers. Water comes from a creek which starts up the hill and is stored in a smaller water tank for pressure. It’s delicious and triple filtered for drinking from the small tap on the kitchen bench. It’s heated by solar power or the wetback wood stove. Basically, XSPOT Cliff House is modern sustainable off grid holidaying impersonated.

Enjoy sea views from the bedroom, kitchen and lounge. Louvre windows in the hall way provide a breeze in summer, and large sliding doors provide access to the sun deck.
